The Ashlu Project must meet BC Hydros Green Criteria
Once constructed, the project will be inspected by BC Hydro to ensure that it is complying with BC Hydro's environmental green criteria. In addition, the project will be EcoLogo certified, which is a Canada wide recognized certification that is applied to projects or products that meet specific environmental guidelines. Ecologo is an independent, third party certification group who has been contracted by BC Hydro to certify IPPs who sell renewable electricity to BC Hydro.
Power Sales Contract
Ledcor has a contract with BC Hydro to provide electricity for 20 years from the Ashlu Creek Green Power Project. Under the terms of the contract, BC Hydro will receive 100% of all of the electricity produced from the project.
Interconnection Agreement
BC Transmission Corporation and BC Hydro have studied the Ashlu Creek Green Power Project and have stated that the existing transmisson lines in the Upper Squamish Valley have enough extra capacity to handle all of the electricity produced. There will be no new transmission lines down the Upper Squamish Valley as a result of this project.
