A community meeting was held on November 9 for all Squamish Valley residents at the North Vancouver Outdoor School from 7 to 8pm. Approximately 25 people were in attendance, including Mr. John Turner of the SLRD.
Topics of discussion included the following:
• Tunnel rock disposal area
• Tunnel rock availability to residents
• Traffic control on the Squamish Valley road
• Noise reduction and prevention methods
• Concrete supply and batch plant status
• Construction schedule
• Employment opportunities
• Ashlu Trust Fund for the Squamish Valley community
• Future community meetings

The next community meeting will be scheduled for February 2007.

A community meeting was held on November 7, 2006 at the Howe Sound Inn with three people from the Upper Squamish Valley. This meeting was held by request and prior to the regularly scheduled November 9 community meeting at the North Vancouver Outdoor School for all Squamish Valley residents.
Issues discussed included:
• Noise from the operating project
• Power line type and visibility
• Traffic control on Squamish Valley road
• Concrete batch plant status
• Tunnel rock disposal site and plan
• Construction laydown area sizes
• Trust Fund establishment for Squamish Valley residents
